FAQs

For All Cases

  • We need to establish that there is no conflict.  We need to know the names of the parties involved, plaintiff and defendant, lawyers on both sides, and the presiding judge. If available we also need a copy of the complaint or petition.  Keep in mind, all information sent to us is discoverable by the opposing party.

  • PLEASE REDACT ALL SENSITIVE INFORMATION SUCH AS SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS AND PHYSICAL ADDRESSES (EXCEPT CITY AND STATE) BEFORE SENDING US DOCUMENTS.

Plaintiffs Cases

  • To perform an economic analysis we need sociological information and economic information.

  • Sociological information includes the date of birth and date of injury or death of the client and their household information.  Employment cases require dates of employment, termination, and start of economic losses due to discrimination.

  • Economic information reflects the clients earnings. In most cases we use the clients W-2 information and tax returns. Absent such earnings history we may use statistical sources such as average earnings by education or occupation. In cases of minor children we may use average earnings by education on the basis of their parents or older sibling's level of education.

  • Excerpted deposition testimony and economically pertinent answers to interrogatories or other written discovery answers.

Defense Cases

  • In most defense cases we are hired as consultants rather than testifying economic expert witnesses.

  • Economic analyses performed by the plaintiff's economic expert.

  • Sociological information such as the date of birth and date of injury or death, and household information.

  • Excerpted deposition testimony and economically pertinent answers to interrogatories or other written discovery answers.
